Falmouth Resident Kerin Delaney Named Commonwealth Heroine

June 20th, 2024 - BOSTON - On Friday, Falmouth’s Kerin Delaney was celebrated as a 2024 Commonwealth Heroine by the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women. Nominated by Representative Dylan Fernandes, the Commonwealth Heroine award recognizes and honors extraordinary women across the state who serve as unsung heroes in their communities.

"For fifteen years, Kerin has exemplified compassion and dedication through her tireless advocacy for vulnerable populations in Falmouth," said Rep. Dylan Fernandes. "Her leadership at the Falmouth Service Center has expanded access to essential resources and support services for families in need. Kerin is a true heroine in our community, and I can think of no one more deserving of this honor."

As Executive Director of the Falmouth Service Center, Delaney has been instrumental in providing critical assistance like groceries, fuel aid, and school supplies to families in need. During the COVID-19 pandemic, her leadership was vital in rapidly expanding the center's food distribution efforts to meet surging demand within the Falmouth community.

Delaney's profound impact on the Falmouth community through her decades of service has left an indelible mark. The 2024 Commonwealth Heroine award recognizes her as an exemplary leader whose compassion has improved countless lives.
